Gun Safety for Kids
As adult gun owners, we have a responsibility to teach our kids proper gun safety. But, we would also argue that you don't have to be a gun owner to teach your children about gun safety. After all, regardless of your view on guns, you want to ensure your children know what to do in the event they do encounter a firearm.
The NRA has a great gun safety program for kids. Their Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program teaches children in pre-K through third grade four important steps to take if they find a gun:
If You Find a Gun
1. STOP!
2. Don't Touch
3. Leave the Area
4. Tell an Adult

Once children are ready to begin handling firearms (under adult supervision, of course) they should become familiar with the standard Gun Safety Rules.
